JAYA's ANIMAL RESCUE's LATEST PROJECT TO HELP A DOG/CAT RESCUER IN SHANGHAI:

Ayi Wang is a caring and kind hearted woman who has rescued abandoned and abused dogs (22 dogs / 6 cats in the shelter and 5 dogs / 4 cats in her home!) for the past couple of years and has housed them in a building limited with space and resources (linen, food, medical care etc).

Everyday, she takes a bus which take over an hour to the vicinity to feed and check up on the dogs. She has 5 other ayi friends helping her, however, with no funding, they can only do so much in providing the animals medical care & pet supplies.  Currently each pen (4 in total - 3 pens for the dogs and 1 pen for the cats, approx 7 x 4 feet in size) holds 7 dogs per pen.

However, Ayi Wang is in desperate need of help to take care of the rescued animals and hopefully find them good homes.  The animals living conditions need to be drastically improved, and Marvin Manalac of Jaya’s Animal Rescue has extended his compassion to help Ayi.  In doing so she will have a chance to help other stray animals in dire need.  as well as to continue rescuing others their living conditions need to be drastically improved.  Ayi Wang is doing her best in caring for these animals and seeing the situation on Saturday has enforced me to help this person and the animals.

Marvin has an estimate to rebuild her shelter, and make more room for the current residents and others to come.  The price to rebuild the shelter will be about RMB 10,000 RMB. This will provide a bigger home & space for the dogs/cats. It will also give us the opportunity to check their health, have them groomed and provide their food and medication. Once the donations have been received, the contractors will take approx 2 to 3 months to build the units. The home will provide ample space and walking area for the dogs.

We will have the dogs/cats screened (health) and ensure their temperament and character is deemed ready for adoption. Slowly but surely we will push to have the animals adopted out to good homes and to loving families.

Jaiya's Animal Rescue in Shanghai has been been working tirelessly rescuing and rehoming stray and abandoned animals off the streets of Shanghai.  With their help last October, 8 dogs (6 puppies, their mother and another 8 month old dog called Feifei rescued from a construction area in Shanghai are all being adopted into the loving homes. Scroll down to see some photos!

In order for JAYA's to continue their compassionate work in Shanghai, they need all the help they can get.  They are not only saving innocent animals from unspeakable brutality, but they are also teaching compassion by example.  Jaya's initiative is precisely the kind of work that China desperately needs everywhere in order to bring relief to animals that have been abused for so long.
